If you’re like me, you never think about shoe laces until one breaks on you. But when it does, keeping your shoe on properly becomes a big hassle. Footwear etc. carries several brands of laces, which can work on all sorts of shoes!

Need dress shoe laces? Check out the Mephisto replacement shoe laces in black. These 80 cm long cotton laces are specific for dress shoes and are a round, braided style. They’ll look great with all sorts of dress shoes!

For casual or walking shoes, Mephisto also makes replacement laces in tan, and black. These are 90 cm long and are flat and woven from 100% cotton. You can also get them in Birch or Espresso in 90, 115, 120, and 130 cm lengths.

Ecco also makes replacement shoe laces that are suitable for many types of casual walking shoes. Available in white and black in 32” lengths, these round braided laces are treated with wax for extra strength.

Cadillac has an interesting type of lace, called the Comfort Lace. These black rope-shaped laces are 30” long, but contain collapsible knots. These knots produce “tension zones” at each eyelet, which helps you maintain tension in particular areas. These laces eliminate the need to keep retying your shoes due to slippage. The Comfort Lace shoe laces are a great choice if you find you need to re-tie your shoes more than you’d like to.

Don’t be fooled by cheap knock-offs; the Mephisto, Ecco and Cadillac laces are very high quality and hold up well over time. Consider any of these when you need a new pair of laces!

‘Tis the season for giving, and for great sales. I love online shopping; I avoid the crowds but I can still get great deals. I can sit around in my pajamas and order wonderful gifts for loved ones at 3 AM. Footwear etc. has some fabulous items that can make a lot of people on your holiday list very happy this season. Here’s a sampling of what I’m looking at this year:

Lots of products from UGG Australia. Last year I got my daughter the Bailey Button Triplet, and she’s been living in them ever since. They’re warm, soft, and durable. She loves the versatility of this boot, and wears it with both skirts as well as jeans or tights. It’s a great looking and feeling boot for the cold months.

This year I’d like a pair of the Classic Shorts for myself! Why should my kids get all the cozy comfort? I had a pair of knock-off UGGS a few years ago, and they really were not worth the money. The faux sheepskin on those boots got matted and scratchy over time, and I want authentic high quality sheepskin. You can’t beat that level of comfort. Hello, Santa?

A cute stocking stuffer is the UGG Classic Short Keychain! It’s available in Chestnut or Sand, and is absolutely adorable. It’s the perfect gift for your UGG boot aficionado.

My standard go-to gift for the UGG lovers in my life is the UGG Care Kit. It’s the ultimate way to protect those precious boots. I plan to keep my boots for many years, and the items in the care kit keep them looking their best. I protect boots from water and stains with the Sheepskin Protector, and clean any stains with the Sheepskin Cleaner. I love how the brush keeps the sheepskin looking like new, and the Sheepskin Freshener keeps the boots smelling great.

My family loves to travel, I’m interested in some terrific travel items. The Cadillac Travel Shine Kit is a compact little kit you can take with you to keep your shoes looking terrific. Containing polish, sponge applicators, a horsehair shine brush and a shine cloth, this kit is easy to pack and use regardless of where you are. Need to protect your shoes in or out of the suitcase? Consider the Four Seasons Shoe Bags. These nylon bags even have bamboo charcoal, which helps control moisture, odor, and provides antibacterial properties. This will be great for my husband’s dressiest shoes.

I’m lobbying for the Naot Dead Sea Travel Kit. These spa products smell great and are the perfect for pampering my hands, feet, and body! They are non-greasy, and feel great going on. The .5 oz. bottles are the perfect size for travel.

There are a lot of fabulous handbags that make great gifts. I particularly like the Hobo International Carson (small shoulder bag) and the Esme (clutch). Available in a variety of colors, both are beautiful, versatile, and perfect for the holiday season.

Lastly, you can never go wrong getting socks. I love the crazy designs of the Hot Sox brand. I already own several of the designs, but my favorite has been the Cupcakes pattern. If you or your gift recipient isn’t into patterns, there are a variety of socks in solid colors. I’m probably also going to get some of the socks specifically designed for Diabetics for those in my family who have this illness. The flat seams really make a difference in comfort for them!

These ideas are just the tip of the iceberg in what Footwear etc. offers this holiday season. Take a look through the site and see what calls out to you!

Let’s face it, UGG boots are an investment. They’re an investment in style, quality, and warmth. They also aren’t cheap, so why not protect that investment? I want to make mine last as long as possible, so that’s why I’m so happy with the UGG Sheepskin Care Kit.

The last thing I want is for my nice boots to get stained and dirty. The Sheepskin Care Kit contains both a sheepskin brush with stain eraser, and a 4 oz. bottle of Sheepskin Cleaner. That cleaner is fantastic; it really removes tough stains, and brightens the entire boot. Now I don’t have to worry if I accidentally step in a puddle and get a little mud on my boots.

Sheepskin breathes well, but sometimes your feet can still get a little too warm. Eliminate any odors with the Sheepskin Freshener. There’s no need to have smelly boots this winter with this product around! It’s specifically designed for UGG products, so you know you can trust its quality.

My favorite part of the Care Kit is the Sheepskin Protector. I apply this spray all over my boots each season, and it really helps protect against water/snow and dirt. My priority is to keep my boots looking as new as possible, and the sheepskin protector is my best weapon against the elements.

The UGG Sheepskin Care Kit is only recommended for use on the twinface sheepskin boots and slippers in the Classic, Ultra and Ultimate collections.

Be prepared for the elements and protect your investment this winter. Check out the UGG Sheepskin Care Kit. You’ll be very happy you did!

My dad had a shoe shine box that he used to take care of all his dress shoes. Granted, he wore his dress shots a lot, since he wore suits to work every day. Being the frugal guy he was, Dad believed that he needed to get as much mileage out of his shoes as he could. I have many happy memories of helping my dad shine his shoes on Saturday mornings, and lo-and-behold Footwear etc. now carries a very similar shoe shine box from Four Seasons!

The Four Seasons Full Cedar Shine Box is a phenomenal gift for your favorite shoe connoisseur. The cedar box not only smells great (perfect to keep in your closet), it holds all your essential shoe shine accessories. The box comes with a wood and horsehair shine brush, 2 wood and horsehair shine daubers for applying shoe polish, a can of black and a can of neutral-colored shoe polish, and a shine cloth. The top of the box has a slant board on which you can work on your shoes with full accessibility and ease.

This beautiful and practical shine box is an elegant gift for anyone who loves to take care of shoes. Make those investments last by taking care of your shoes! Keep your shoe shine materials contained and accessible in the Four Seasons Full Cedar Shine Box. Maybe you can create some happy memories with your family too!

If I’m going to make an investment in some good quality shoes, I want them to last as long as possible. Proper care and treatment can help you accomplish that goal, and Collonil has a variety of products designed just for this purpose.

Need to protect your shoes against water damage? Try the Collonil Waterstop Spray. It’s effective on all sorts of materials: leather, nubuck, Gore Tex, etc. The spray foam, which goes on clear, is very quick and easy to apply. Another great feature is that protects against fading as well! Also consider it for handbags and other leather/nubuck/textile products!

Collonil’s Clean and Care Foam is a spray foam that’s great for cleaning and nourishing leather, nubuck and textiles. Just remember to spray the foam onto a cloth, brush or sponge first, not directly on the item. Once you rub it all over the item, use a damp cloth to remove the foam. (Just be sure to try it on a non-noticeable area to be sure that the item is color fast.) My purse, which I throw around all over the place, could definitely use some TLC from this product!

I found a way to make my nubuck shoes look like new again: using the Collonil Nubuck Box Shoe Cleaner. This is a sponge with a soft foam rubber side to roughen the fibers of the nubuck, and a crepe side to clean the suede/nubuck. This product is especially effective if you use it after using a liquid cleaner, letting the item dry, and then brush the nubuck/suede in one direction.

Don’t let water, dirt and assorted wear make your shoes deteriorate! Check out the Collonil products to protect that investment!

The holiday season is upon us, and with that always brings a sense of anxiety. What do you get for people who seem to have everything they need? How can you make their holiday special, with something fun to open? ‘Tis the season to splurge and pamper those you love, so here are a few ideas to help you navigate this busy time of year.

UGG Boots: The ultimate gift of warmth and comfort for the wintertime. My daughter specifically requested a pair of the UGG Australia Bailey Button Triplets. They are phenomenally warm and cozy, and along with the UGG Care Kit, make a wonderful gift for anyone. I went ahead and protected her boots with the Sheepskin Protector in the UGG Care Kit, so now I feel like my investment will hold up over time and the boots will be protected against snow, dirt, etc. I know this gift will be a big hit!

Slippers: Who needs cold feet either in the house, or if you’re running outside to get the newspaper? A new pair of slippers could be just the answer to your gift dilemma. My Dad’s favorite slippers are the UGG Australia Men’s Ascot – a classic style for any man. I’m lobbying for the UGG Australia Coquette in Chocolate; it’s great to just slip on and go. I would have no qualms wearing those to the store, or anywhere else! Mom wants a bootie style of slipper, so the Orthaheel Alaska is perfect for keeping her feet warm as well as supported. And for those with sensitive feet, Qwaruba has the perfect slipper: the Side Wrap.

Socks: These do not have to equate to the “lump of coal” in the stocking! There are some fabulous patterns and styles that are sure to please everyone on your holiday list. Marcmarcs and Goodhew make a variety of styles in different colors, and even patterns like argyle! So many choices are available for both men and women, in different heights as well. For sensitive/diabetic feet, consider the Jobst Sensifoot socks. These are specifically designed to reduce friction and provide cushioning. There’s a sock for everyone.

Gilden Tree Foot Care Products: This new line of creams, exfoliants, and lotions is gluten free and safe for Diabetics and Celiacs. And they smell good too! Great for pampering your loved ones. I particularly like the Healing Foot Cream – it’s very creamy but doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy. It’s a great gift for those with feet that need a little extra TLC.

These suggestions are just the tip of the iceberg of the wealth of potential gifts available from Footwear, etc. this holiday season. Why fight crowds at the mall? Shop online and pamper those you love, or splurge for yourself. Aren’t you worth it?

Let’s face it, UGG boots are an investment. You’re getting the best quality sheepskin available, in very high quality boots. You could get some cheap knock-off, but those don’t hold up the way that Authentic UGG boots from UGG Australia do. So if you’re going to spend the extra money to get the best quality boots you can find, why not protect them so that they’ll last as long as possible?

This is precisely why the UGG Care Kit was developed. When you’re investing in a good pair of boots, taking care of them is important. The UGG Care Kit contains everything you’d need to ensure that your boots look and feel fabulous for as long as possible. The kit contains the following:

Sheepskin Cleaner – this solution removes tough stains, and gives the sheepskin a clean and bright look.

Sheepskin Protector – protects against damage caused by rain, snow, dirt, and stains.

Sheepskin Freshener (my personal favorite) – helps keep your boots from smelling like FEET. It eliminates odor caused by bacteria and keeps your boots fresh smelling.

Also included in the kit are a sheepskin brush and a stain/scuff eraser.

I’m certain that this kit is going to come in handy for me this winter. I don’t want my boots to look good for just a couple of weeks until the weather gets sloppy, I want them looking great all season long (and beyond). So protect your investment with the UGG Care Kit. A little care will keep your boots looking great for a long time!

Summer is the best season. With all of the barbecues and beach days, picnics and peach pies, fireworks and family vacations- it’s all so much fun.

But my favorite parts of summer (though the peach pies are a close second) are the SHOES. And what, my friends, is the consummate summer footwear? Why, the sandal of course! This summer, I was on a mission to find the ideal sandal… one that would be comfortable enough to be on my feet at those beach days and picnics, but also stylish enough to wear with shorts and flowy dresses.

Well that mission proved to be not impossible when I came across the Geox Tori Sandals. The black leather T-strap upper is adorned with a ring detail and is so smart and stylish (and sexy!), that they make the perfect transition from a day shoe to a night shoe. I just wore them for the entire day on the 4th of July: from early morning walking the parade route, to an afternoon of window shopping and all the way into the evening of trekking to the optimum fireworks viewing spot. And let me tell you, I had an independence day of my own as I was free from the blisters and bruises that usually plague me when I spend so much time on my feet.

Best of all, the adorable Tori Sandals are the perfect shoe for braving those hot summer days. Just like with the Noah Flats, the patented Geox insole wicks away the moisture one can so easily accumulate in a heat wave to keep you dry and comfortable. So if it’s the high temps that are making you sweat, or the nerves before a blind date on the boardwalk, either way you’re in the clear.

If you want to get a little fancier (something I am ALL for), the Geox Tori Sandals also come in a version with a sassy buckle. Those come in black and cognac, perfect to match those flowy summer dresses of any color. They’ll be sure to become your #1 summer loves… the peach pies may just have to settle for second place.

Also, hurry and save 10% off all regular priced sandals and an extra 10% off of sale priced sandals! The offer ends July 31, 2008!

Walking around town on my vacation I noticed my tennis shoes didn’t feel quite right. Sitting to rest at a local cafe, I checked inside of my shoes and found the insoles had holes in them. I had heard that Spenco made great insoles, so using my trusty web enabled cell phone I found the nearest seller of Spenco products and purchased a pair of the Polysorb Cross Trainers. I felt like a new woman; my feet felt like new too!

I trimmed them slightly to fit and they slipped easily into my shoes. Once I was walking again I could feel the difference. Even though they were a soft insole they had the arch support I needed as well as the shock absorption in the heel. With all the walking we had to do on this trip, Spenco surely saved the day.
They also make more of an orthotic insole with a cast on the base to give a much firmer feel to the foot.

Try Spenco, you wont regret it.
