Flip Flops in any Color, for any Occasion!

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that Footwear etc. carries over 300 models/colors of flip flops. You could have a flip flop in your closet for each day of the week! You could have a flip flop for each color in your wardrobe. You could practically get a new flip flop each time your mood changes! There’s no shortage of comfortable flip flops in our catalog; here are a few that “called out” to me:

Want rocker sole technology in your flip flops? Check out the models by FitFlop. The Microwobbleboard technology activates muscles in your legs and helps you tone. FitFlops are also superior in shock absorption and help realign your body as you walk. The Walkstar 3 comes in neutral as well as fashion-forward colors and is a great addition to your wardrobe.

For a luxurious, cushioned feel, try the Clarks Latin Samba. It’s a flexible shoe that has extra cushioning and intake vents to help channel out warm, moist air to keep your feet cool. I also like it because it has a flower on the top – definitely a girly flip flop!

Think makes a beautiful flip flop suitable for dressy occasions. The Soso has really cute metallic accents, and a stylish 1 ½” heel. The cork/latex footbed is anatomically contoured for your comfort. You can feel the support and cushioning while you wear a fun-looking sandal.

Men have many choices in flip flops, including those from Olukai. The Ohana is a terrific casual flip flop with a comfortable nylon webbing toe post. The anatomical EVA insole provides support and feels great on your feet.

I also really like the Chaco Flip X Ecotread. This is a waterproof sandal that has a great arch support, and the outsole contains 25% recycled material. I feel so politically correct wearing these shoes! And they’re really cute!

The choices in flip flops are almost limitless, so check out what’s online at Footwear etc. and have fun!

Retail Therapy at its Best!

Sometimes if I have a bad day, the only thing that cheers me up is some retail therapy. (Or Chinese Food, but I digress…) I needed some new sandals for the warm weather anyway, and I’m getting fussier about what feels good on my feet. I can’t wear huge heels anymore, my metatarsals just can’t handle that these days. But I want to have cute, stylish shoes, not something that Grandma would wear. Much to my delight, I found several new friends that my feet love wearing! And of course, wouldn’t you know it that they are from two very popular brands: Clarks, and Naot!

Clarks is a really reliable brand for me, I own several different models. My latest addition to the family is the Clarks Owl Boost in Black Nubuck. It’s a really comfortable slide, and it’s even available in narrow, medium and wide widths! The OrthoLite foam footbed with Active Air is covered in soft nubuck, and feels very cushiony and absorbs shock. I particularly love how this shoe works well with casual or dressy clothes! It’s a great all-around shoe for the warm months, and I can’t wait to take it out on the town!

I’d heard that Naot was a terrific brand in terms of support and style, but I’d never tried a pair. Once I put my feet into the Naot Petal, I didn’t want to take them off! What an amazingly supportive and comfortable sandal! While I don’t usually wear orthotics, the removable footbed works well with them if you do need them. But I can really feel the support in the footbed, which is made from cork – a superior product for this application. Naot is known for its comfort and stability in its shoes, and these are no exception. I love the feminine styling of the cutouts in the upper, and the softness of the leather. These will get a lot of use this summer!

Next time you need some retail therapy, check out some of the latest styles from Clarks and Naot. So many shoes, so little time….

Fantastic Easy-to-Wear Flats!

Sometimes I just don’t feel like wearing heels. Sure, heels make me look a little taller, and they can look very elegant, but they’re just not as easy to wear as flats are. I’ve discovered that you can have dressy flats as well as casual flats, so I don’t have to feel compelled to wear heels all the time. Footwear etc. carries many brands that include casual to dressy flats in their collections, and here are some that really caught my eye!

Clarks Un.Beam – the beauty of Clarks shoes is that they tend to be very cushioned, so your feet feel like you’re walking on clouds! The Un.Beam is no exception; the soft, leather lining and footbed cradle your feet in cushioned comfort. This is also a great shoe to wear from work to a night on the town; it goes great with jeans or dressier attire. I also love the available colors: black, graphite, and bronze metallic. I think they’ll go with everything I own!

Indigo by Clarks Berry Blossom – the Indigo by Clarks collection is specifically designed for those of us who love to mix and match clothing and accessories to create a look that’s all your own. The Berry Blossom is an adorable, yet dressy shoe that provides all the comfort you’d expect in a Clarks shoe. Easy to slip on, easy to wear with a lot of different types of outfits. I particularly like it with skinny jeans, or skirts. My favorite color is the purple leather, but it also comes in brown and black.

Privo by Clarks Doting – this particular collection excels in casual style. What sets it apart is its unique soleassage technology. Imagine a built-in massager in your shoes! The insole has numerous textured bumps that are intended to massage your feet and help reduce fatigue throughout the day. The Doting has all of these features along with a cute, casual leather and nubuck upper that you’ll love to sink your feet into. These could easily be my perfect “let’s go shopping” shoes. No mall could beat me in these comfy flats! I’m especially fond of the grey, but they also come in eggplant and black.

Ecco Bouillon – I LOVE these dressy flats. They can be girly, they can be dressy, they can be casual. A flat for every mood? Why not? The Bouillon comes in both a casual and a dressy form (the “Casual Bouillon” vs. the “Bouillon”). Yet even some of those called “Casual” can still work as dressy shoes. A great example of this is the Ecco Casual Bouillon. The red leather version is especially fun, and would lift anyone’s mood! Ecco is known for having very good support and cushioning in its shoes, so you can’t go wrong with this brand either.

Mephisto Kalmina – Who doesn’t love superior quality, hand-made shoes? That’s the way to truly pamper your feet! You can get this with Mephisto models like the Kalmina. This is a fabulous, easy-to-wear flat that comes in black suede, brown suede, and black nappa leather. Mephisto shoes are wonderful for walking, and are known for their stability, comfort, and durability. The high-quality materials used in Mephisto shoes include leather, cork, latex and rubber, which makes all of their shoes – including the Kalmina – feel fantastic. The Kalmina is an elegant slip-on flat that is versatile enough to wear for a variety of occasions. You won’t be disappointed in the superior quality of these shoes.

Allrounder by Mephisto Estelle – I have to admit, the first thing I noticed about this shoe is that it has the same name as my mother! But when I looked further, I really loved the style. The Allrounders differ from other Mephisto shoes only in that you can’t replace the insole, but these durable shoes will last a long time anyway. The Estelle has a breathable lining that keeps your feet cool and dry, and the caoutchouc rubber outsole provides excellent traction. The stylish cross strap helps you get a custom fit! I’d feel very comfortable wearing these shoes if I need to do a lot of walking during my day, yet I won’t be sacrificing style for comfort. The Estelle is available in black as well as off-white for your fashion choices!

Merrell Marina – here’s a happy, summery shoe! The Marina is one of those shoes you’d love to just slip into on the weekends. Merrell makes rugged shoes, and this shoe is no exception, but it doesn’t look like you need to go tromping through the woods. This cute “boat shoe” style has great cushioning and a rugged sole, with an air cushion in the heel for added comfort. The footbed is soft to the touch and treated with an antimicrobial solution to help prevent odor. And I love the sporty style! Check it out in ivory, ink, and brown leather.

So many flats, so easy to wear! Choose one of the many flats available from Footwear etc. to augment your wardrobe. One for every mood? One for every color in your wardrobe? One for every day of the week? Why not?

Clarks’ Unstructured Line: Ultimate Comfort in Contemporary Styles

I’ve always been a fan of Clarks shoes, and I’ve noticed recently many new models begin with “un.” Like “Un.Actual,” or “Un.Crow,” or “Un.Jib.” It seemed like a strange way to name shoes, so I did a little checking…

Turns out all the names of the shoes beginning with “un” are part of Clark’s Unstructured line. This particular class of shoes excels in keeping your feet cool and dry, with technology specifically designed to make you as comfortable as possible. The Clarks ACS (Air Circulation System)specifically brings in fresh air to your feet, while venting warm, moist air out of the shoe. And on top of that, the shoes are extremely flexible, lightweight, produce good traction, have very good shock absorption, and have really soft, leather uppers with lambskin linings. What’s not to love?

My favorite dressy sandal is the Clarks Un.Crow. With its stable 2 ¼” heel, the Un.Crow was great when I had to stand for hours at my high school reunion. My feet stayed cool and comfortable, even in heat and humidity! I also love the fact that I can wear them with both dressy clothes as well as casual clothes. A phenomenal all-around sandal that I wear year-round.

Like clogs? Check out the Clarks Un.Actual. It has a beautiful t-strap design, with all the comfort properties of the Unstructured line. Don’t be fooled by the wood-appearance of the sole; the outsole is made of lightweight PU with EVA filler and rubber strike pads. No heavy, clunky shoe here! Beautiful, easy-to-wear clog for any occasion.

My next sandal purchase will be the Un.Jib. I need another pair of casual sandals for warm weather, and the Un.Jib is fantastic. The two adjustable straps will give me a custom fit, and the soft leather insole and upper will feel fantastic. What a cool, comfortable, stylish sandal for everyday wear. I can’t wait to get my pair!

For the ultimate in casual comfort, check out the Clarks Unstructured Line of shoes. The hardest decision you’ll have is choosing which pair (or pairs!) to wear!

Clarks Un.Crow – My Current Favorite Shoes!

I knew I’d need a pair of shoes for a wedding. I knew I’d need a pair of shoes for my high school reunion. I WANTED a pair of shoes that I could wear with both casual and dressy outfits. I required a pair of shoes that were comfortable, supportive, and cool for the summer. Lo-and-behold, I found the Clarks Un.Crow!

I’ve worn Clarks shoes before, and have always been impressed with their versatility, comfort, and affordable prices. So I knew that the Un.Crow had great potential for me. I can’t wear heels that are too high due to chronic stress fractures, so I was excited to see that the Un.Crow has a 2.25 inch heel. That’s just high enough to look dressy, yet low enough to prevent pain in my metatarsal area.

I decided to try the Un.Crow in black, since I can use black shoes for almost any occasion. Little did I realize how many ways I could wear them! They look great with my dressy outfit (for the wedding), “business casual” wear for my reunion, and I even wore them with jeans to work (making the rest of my outfit look a little more formal).

What I especially love about the Un.Crow is the comfort. I can feel the arch support. The insole is soft enough so I don’t feel like I’m walking on concrete (even when I am!). There are vents that allow my feet to stay cool. The Velcro strap lets me adjust the shoe to fit perfectly whether my feet are swollen from the heat or not! And best of all, they are really attractive. I love these shoes!

Look for the Clarks Un.Crow in black or in brown leather. They might become your favorite shoes too!

Be My Valentine, Clarks Diamond Heart!

Chocolate hearts. Diamonds. Roses. Stuffed Animals. Who wants that?! Being the practical girl that I am, all I wanted for Valentine’s Day this year is the new Diamond Heart pump from the Clarks® Artisan Collection! My feet were thrilled when I got what I asked for!

Clarks Diamond Heart Beige Sandals

The Diamond Heart in Beige Leather is the perfect pump for work and it also comes in Black Leather and Grey Metallic Leather. Made with high quality leather and patent uppers, these shoes are elegantly designed with contrast stitch detail and a 2½ -inch stacked heel. The rubber outsole prevents you from embarrassing moments like slipping and falling on your own coffee spill in front of your boss. The Diamond Heart will soon be your favorite item to wear to the office as they practically go with every outfit!

With its classic oversized button strap closure and comfort foam footbed construction, perforated for improved breathability (Goodbye smelly feet!), it’s the perfect marriage between retro and modern design. If your feet hurt from wearing closed toe pumps at work, these peep toes are a great alternative. The soft, leather interior massages your feet with each step. Suddenly the multiple trips to the copy room aren’t so bad after all! Plus, it allows you to get away with wearing open toe shoes in any season! If that’s not practical, then I don’t know what is.
