Remember Earth Shoes? Now there are New Types for Everyone!

I remember the Earth shoes from the ‘70s. They had a negative heel, and were fairly clunky-looking. But they were popular and comfortable, and reflected the fashion sense of the day. Earth shoes are back, and updated for today’s tastes in fashion and comfort. There are actually three Earth brands available: Kalso Earth Shoes (the original wellness shoes with a negative heel), Earthies Shoes (very fashion  forward wellness shoes), and Earth Shoes (contemporary designs for the everyday working woman).

Kalso Earth shoes feature a negative heel, setting your heel slightly lower than your toes. Why is this a good thing? It helps you improve your posture and reduce stress on your joints. The UGG Bailey Button Mini: the Perfect UGG for ME!

I love UGG boots but I’ve always had some minor issues. The talls and the shorts don’t fit my calves properly, I can’t get the Bailey Button Triplet because my daughter has one of those (and heaven forbid we actually have the same style boot!), the Bailey Button has been an option, but now I have an even better choice for me: the UGG Bailey Button Mini!

What makes this boot perfect for me is that it’s just tall enough to keep my feet and ankles toasty warm. I tend to not wear pants tucked into boots, so having something taller is really unnecessary for me. I’m also really pleased that UGG Australia listened to its customers who had issues getting their feet into the Classic Mini boots; the seam around the top can make it a little challenging to get on and off. The Bailey Button Mini eliminates this issue; the boot is easy to get on and off because of the button closure and the side seam on the boot. It’s cute, stylish, and warm. What’s not to love?

Support for those Sheepskin Boots!

During these cold wintery months, loads of people love to get sheepskin boots for the holidays. I don’t blame them, I love the warmth and coziness of sheepskin. My feet, however, balk when there’s no arch support in my shoes. That’s why I love the insoles and orthotics from Superfeet and Lynco.  If you’ve got good quality sheepskin boots, you can swap out the insoles they came with and insert one of these products.

Holiday Gift Ideas!

‘Tis the season for giving, and for great sales. I love online shopping; I avoid the crowds but I can still get great deals. I can sit around in my pajamas and order wonderful gifts for loved ones at 3 AM. Footwear etc. has some fabulous items that can make a lot of people on your holiday list very happy this season. Here’s a sampling of what I’m looking at this year:

Lots of products from UGG Australia. Last year I got my daughter the Bailey Button Triplet, and she’s been living in them ever since. They’re warm, soft, and durable. She loves the versatility of this boot, and wears it with both skirts as well as jeans or tights. It’s a great looking and feeling boot for the cold months.

This year I’d like a pair of the Classic Shorts for myself! Why should my kids get all the cozy comfort? I had a pair of knock-off UGGS a few years ago, and they really were not worth the money. The faux sheepskin on those boots got matted and scratchy over time, and I want authentic high quality sheepskin. You can’t beat that level of comfort. Hello, Santa?

Lastly, you can never go wrong getting socks. I love the crazy designs of the Hot Sox brand. I already own several of the designs, but my favorite has been the Cupcakes pattern.  If you or your gift recipient isn’t into patterns, there are a variety of socks in solid colors. I’m probably also going to get some of the socks specifically designed for Diabetics for those in my family who have this illness. The flat seams really make a difference in comfort for them!

UGG Bomber Jacket Series – Warmth and Historic Flight Jacket Style for Everyone!

Bomber jackets have been around since the early 20th century. They were originally created for pilots, and back then the cockpits weren’t enclosed! Imagine how cold those people got. UGG Australia Sheepskin Care Kits for the Ultimate Protection of your Boots

Let’s face it, UGG boots are an investment. They’re an investment in style, quality, and warmth. They also aren’t cheap, so why not protect that investment? I want to make mine last as long as possible, so that’s why I’m so happy with the UGG Sheepskin Care Kit.

In Praise of the UGG Bailey Button!

Cooler weather has arrived, and I’ve been anxious to get a pair of boots. Unfortunately, sometimes boots don’t fit me around the ankle or the calf. Leave it to UGG Australia to have the perfect boot for those of us who have more of a challenging fit: the Bailey Button!

As Seen on “Oprah’s Favorite Things”: The UGG Classic Cardy!

I love seeing what Oprah comes up with for her list of her favorite things. Sometimes there are some really interesting items there that I wouldn’t necessarily have found otherwise. But one item on her list I’m already very familiar with, and I think just as highly of it as she does: the UGG Classic Cardy. It’s like a sheepskin cardigan sweater for your feet!

The versatility of this boot is fantastic. Your feet stay really warm and cozy because of the soft, sheepskin insole.  You can also get a variety of looks by changing what you do with the shaft of the boot. Want to wear it with skinny jeans or leggings? Button the boot all the way up! Want a casual look? Scrunch the shaft down a bit. Want to wear it under slacks? Fold the shaft down.  Your look can change with your mood, your wardrobe, or the weather!

This is also a nice boot for those of us with thicker calves. The heathered merino wool gives so that your legs don’t have to feel constricted. I also particularly love the way they look and feel when they are folded down. It really does seem like I’ve got a comfy sweater on my feet; just what I crave during the cold weather.

As Seen in Redbook Magazine: The Earthies Seriph!

Cool weather can mean really “hot” shoes! The newest boot from Earthies, the Seriph, has made its appearance in Redbook magazine, and it’s a great little boot for the winter months.  It’s warm, it’s dressy, it’s amazingly cute – what’s not to love?

Earthies shoes are known for their stylish comfort.  Their motto is “Wellness. Elevated,” meaning that you can have a healthy shoe with style AND with a heel. The toe area of each shoe gently curls, to evenly distribute weight away from your toes. The cupped heel puts your foot into the most supported position, and the anatomical arch helps distribute your weight over the length of the shoe instead of having your weight forced onto your toes. Now you can have all those features in this beautiful boot!

I love how the faux shearling of the Seriph keeps your feet warm and cozy, and the brushed suede provides some elegance. The 3-inch wedge heel makes it easy to stand tall yet be stable.  I can see wearing this with all sorts of outfits, although my first impression was that it would have been great in the Bond movie, “From Russia with Love.” Don’t you agree? How about wearing it to your holiday party? Or maybe when you go “over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house…”? Or how about for a hot date on a cool night?
