Fabulous New Shoes for Spring from BeautiFeel and Naot!

When it’s cold and sloppy outside, I like to think of how wonderful the warmer weather will be. With warmer weather comes great new shoes! Holiday Party Shoes!

‘Tis the season for those holiday parties. I love having an excuse to dress up, and I love having the excuse to break out the fancy shoes. As you navigate this holiday season, consider updating your dressy wardrobe with some new, gorgeous shoes from Footwear etc. Here are a few of my current favorites to go with my fancy attire:

The BeautiFeel Women’s Payton is a strappy sandal with a cute little rosette on the top of the shoe. This handmade shoe is made from the highest quality patent leather, and has a cushioned insole for superior comfort. The 2 ¾” heel looks great with my dressy dresses, but isn’t too high to be comfortable. This timeless classic is perfect for any fancy gathering, whether it’s during the holiday season or during the rest of the year.

Earthies has some adorable dress shoes out now. I really love the Cristiana. It’s a suede shoe with a peep toe and peek-a-boo cutouts. You wouldn’t expect a shoe this pretty to have an anatomic arch and a cupped heel to set the foot into the proper supported position, but it has all of these features. The 3” heel adds elegance to this design, and the zip up the back allows for easy on-off. It’s also a great excuse for getting a pedicure!

Need a dressy flat? How about the Indigo by Clarks Tori Anne. You could wear this flat with your fanciest outfit or with a pair of jeans! That’s phenomenal versatility! The pleading detail at the heel adds visual interest, while the printed leather makes it look really elegant. Available in Burgundy, Chestnut, or Black, it’s a wonderful little all-around flat.

A really interesting shoe is the Pikolinos Women’s Romana Slip-on. I love the tapestry look to the upper, which is also augmented with an embroidered leather detail. There are hidden elastic gores to make this shoe easy to get on and off. Even the topline of the shoe is scalloped for more visual interest. I could see wearing this with a dress, skirt, or even dressy pantsuit. This is a really unique-looking shoe, and the hand-sewn details really pop. The 1 ¾” heel is also very comfortable.

Happy Colors to Brighten Your Mood!

When I think of summertime, I think of great weather and bright colors. What better way to have fun in the sun than with some fun-colored shoes?

I love wedge sandals during the warm-weather months. Indigo by Clarks has an adorable shoe called the Long Pond, in burnt orange leather. The padded footbed provides long-lasting comfort, the cork-wrapped wedge is very fashion-forward, and the outsole gives you great traction and durability. This is a fantastic shoe for a night out on the town!

Aravon has really cute slide with a leaf pattern on the upper, called the Petra. Available in green patent leather, it’s a comfy, stylish summer shoe. This versatile slide is casual enough to wear to the beach, but dressy enough to wear to work. The cushioning in the forefoot makes for a shoe that you can wear all day long.

Orthaheel makes a lot of flip flops in a rainbow of colors. I particularly like the Orthaheel Tide in Plumberry Polyurethane. It’s an amazingly supportive and stable flip flop, and the beautiful purple color is bound to boost your mood! The podiatrist-designed footbed is so comfortable you’ll want to wear them for any occasion!

Need a really dressy shoe with a fun pattern? Check out the Beautifeel Alba in Leopard Suede/patent leather. Vacations – Always a Great Excuse for New Shoes!

It’s always so exciting to plan for a vacation – what to see, what to do, what to wear! Are my existing shoes up for the task at hand? How much walking will I be doing? Are there any formal occasions I need to plan for? What sort of attire will I need, and how can my shoes complement this? So many decisions…

Footwear etc. offers a myriad of types of shoes for many occasions. On my grand adventure, I’ll be doing lots of walking. Given that I have some foot issues anyway, I wanted to find a really stable, supportive shoe that I could count on. My choice? The New Balance WR1123MC. I’ve been a big fan of New Balance shoes for years, particularly since they come in different widths, always have a nice wide toe box, and are of excellent quality. Given my recurring stress fractures, plantar fasciitis, and Achilles tendonitis, I wanted to have a really stable shoe with good arch support and a roll bar to help keep me from overpronating. This shoe fits the bill in all of those areas. I’ve been wearing them to walk around my neighborhood in preparation for our trip, and I think my feet should hold up just fine. I love the support and comfort, and they are lightweight too. Fabulous shoe.

But I can’t live with just walking shoes alone! I like wearing sandals in the warm weather, and I love some of the new styles out right now. Again, I need supportive, stable shoes, so I decided on the Naot Trovador. The cork footbed provides phenomenal support and feels absolutely terrific. I’m finding that they actually help alleviate some of my chronic foot pain. These are also the first sandals I’ve owned that my daughter has wanted to borrow! This gladiator-style shoe is very fashion-forward and looks great with both casual and dressier outfits.

We’ve got formal nights to contend with too. What should I wear with the ubiquitous Little Black Dress? I’m opting for the Beautifeel Women’s Star. These are truly special-occasion shoes. This elegant pump is adorned with little roses for a touch of extra femininity! These handmade shoes feature superior shock absorption and flexibility in a durable, stylish shoe. Ever have a shoe practically call out to you from your computer? This one did it for me. I adore the gorgeous styling of this shoe.

Don’t forget about helpful handbags! I’m trying out the AmeriBag extra small Healthy Back Bag. This should make it easy for me to carry around what I need every day, without being bulky or obtrusive. For a small bag, it really holds a lot. Perfect for the wallet, sunglasses, cell phone, passport, etc. I also love the fact that it’s practically maintenance-free. I’m using a microfiber version, and it’s easy to clean with a damp cloth. You can use it on one shoulder, or crossing your torso for added security.

Don’t forget to plan your footwear for your next vacation! There’s a shoe for every occasion, and your feet will thank you!

My “Go-to” Brand for Elegance: BeautiFeel

There is just something about BeautiFeel shoes that makes me feel special. Maybe it’s the fact that they are hand made from the finest quality leather. Maybe it’s because they are incredibly cushioned, which my feet LOVE. Maybe it’s because the lining breathes well, which keeps my feet cool and comfortable. Or maybe it’s just because of the gorgeous styles available.

I really love the BeautiFeel Star, in clay/brown suede and patent leather. With a 2 ½” heel, it gives me a little height but provides stability so I won’t look like I’m teetering on my feet! The leather rose detail across the top of the shoe adds some femininity to an already classy-looking shoe. And the cushy insole also helps absorb shock, making the shoe even more comfortable to wear. Gorgeous shoe, superior comfort.

The Camille is a fantastic dress sandal. You can really feel the quality in the soft, Italian leather. This particular style is so versatile that you could wear it with a cocktail dress, or even work clothes. (I’ve done both!) Comfortable, breathable, cushioned and fashion-forward, this sandal has everything you’d want for dressy occasions.

Sometimes only a boot will do. I love to wear short boots under slacks; they really dress up the entire outfit. BeautiFeel’s Valeria fits the bill in spades! This lovely boot, which is available in two-toned leather or all black, is so comfortable yet so stylish! It almost takes me back to the Victorian age, when boots with buttons were all the rage. Yet this boot has a timeless style, appropriate for today’s woman looking for classic elegance. And of course the soft, supple leather makes you feel like a queen in these boots!

These Boots Were Made for Walking

In recent weeks, the blogosphere has been abuzz – and surprisingly so – over the presidential candidates’ choice of footwear — particularly that of Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Politics aside, one has to admit it is great to see her pull off a variety of styles that have inspired women everywhere to view sensible footwear as chic. Whether you agree or disagree with her personal and political views, you’ve got to admire her choice of shoes that feel as good as they look! “Feel good and look good” is a mantra Footwear etc. believes in and aims to share with the world.

We’ve been paying close attention to Palin’s comfy clogs, signature wedge slides, fashionable patent and croc leather heels, and the notorious knee high boots. Beautifeel Shoes for Formal Occasions

We are not the only store recommending Beautifeel Shoes for formal occasions. Another blog, BarkingDogShoes, shares their interest in the Beautifeel Prague. (Click on the link to see what their writer has to say about being a middle school teacher in need of standing for long periods while looking stylish during an open house evening.)

They list another store as a good source with a price of $291.00. Footwear etc. sells the elegant and comfortable Beautifeel Prague for $285.00 (with free shipping).

The May 2008 issue of Footwear News highlights Beautifeel’s style by sharing how the comfort company “adds a floral touch to a peep-toe pump” in an effort to get “romantic.” As far as I recall, romance began on my wedding day after I kicked off my shoes.
